New Logic:

I was asked, while shoveling snow, about why we don't use salt. It is effective against snow and requires a lot less effort.

Here's my counterargument:

Salt does what to snow? Turns it into water.
And then, what happens to water below freezing?
Right, it turns to ice.

Which do you like better? Snow? Or Ice?

This is why they use sand in addtion to salt on highways.
